Rasmus "Caps" Winther is poised to become the third player inducted into the League of Legends Hall of Legends. Leaks from the Public Beta Environment, including an accidental map update referencing HoL26, strongly indicate that the G2 Esports mid laner will receive the honor in 2026, with Immortalized Legend Tristana as the associated skin.
The Hall of Legends is LoL Esports’ official hall of fame, created to recognize players whose careers have left a lasting mark on the competitive scene. One player is inducted each year by an independent panel. Faker was the inaugural inductee in 2024. Uzi followed in 2025. Caps now appears next in line.
Dataminers and skin-focused accounts, including SkinSpotlights, reported that Riot’s systems had been updated with Hall of Legends 2026 assets tied to Caps and a prestige Tristana skin. The formal reveal was expected around August 17, though the premature appearance of assets on the PBE raised the possibility of an earlier announcement.
Caps has been the defining Western mid laner of his generation. After breaking out on Fnatic, he joined G2 Esports and helped turn the organization into Europe’s most consistent international contender. His trophy cabinet includes an MSI title in 2019, where he also earned Finals MVP, along with multiple LEC championships that have pushed his domestic title count into record territory. He has reached the Worlds final twice, in 2018 and 2019, and has accumulated a long list of individual awards, including a record number of LEC Finals MVP honors.
Beyond the titles, Caps has been the face of European League of Legends for the better part of a decade. His mechanical ability, champion pool, and willingness to take over games in the mid lane set a standard that other players in the region have measured themselves against. Even in years when G2 fell short on the international stage, Caps rarely dropped out of the conversation about the best mid laners in the world.

The choice of Tristana for the Immortalized Legend skin has already sparked discussion. Caps is primarily known for mid-lane play, and some fans expected a signature mid-lane champion such as Syndra, Sylas, or LeBlanc. Tristana has appeared in his competitive history, particularly in earlier stages of his career and in certain patch environments, but it is not the first name most supporters associate with him. Hall of Legends skins have previously leaned into champions strongly tied to the inductee’s identity, so the Tristana selection stands out as a more unexpected direction.
If confirmed, Caps would be the first active European player and the first mid laner from outside Korea to enter the Hall of Legends. His induction would also continue the pattern of recognizing players who combined sustained regional dominance with memorable international runs. Faker represented unmatched longevity and universal excellence. Uzi embodied the peak of aggressive bot-lane carry play in China. Caps would stand for the modern era of European mid-lane excellence and the long competitive window he has maintained at the top of the LEC.
The Hall of Legends package typically includes more than a single skin. Previous inductions featured multiple champion skins, in-client honors, and ceremonial recognition. Full details on Caps’ rewards, including any additional skins, prestige variants, or commemorative content, will come with the official announcement.
For a player still competing at a high level, induction while active carries extra weight. It places Caps alongside retired or semi-retired icons while he continues to play for G2. That dual status reflects how thoroughly he has already shaped the Western game.
The leaks have moved the conversation from speculation to near-certainty. When Riot makes the formal announcement, Caps will move from perennial contender and regional standard-bearer to an official Legend. The Tristana skin will serve as the permanent in-game marker of that recognition, even if the champion choice itself remains a topic of debate among fans. After years of carrying Europe’s hopes in the mid lane, Caps is on the verge of permanent recognition in the Hall of Legends.
