Riot Games has officially inducted Jian "Uzi" Zihao into the League of Legends Hall of Legends, celebrating him as the second-ever player to receive this prestigious honor. Widely regarded as one of the greatest bot laners in League of Legends history, Uzi's impact on both the competitive scene and broader esports culture has earned him a permanent place in the game’s legacy.
From his breakout performances at the 2013 and 2014 World Championship Finals to his unforgettable run with Royal Never Give Up (RNG) in 2018, Uzi helped elevate League of Legends to new heights in China and beyond. His fierce competitive drive, mechanical precision, and deep fan connection made him an icon in the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) and a defining figure in global esports.
"Uzi’s legacy goes beyond his titles and achievements; he changed the way we view the bot lane role and left a permanent mark on League of Legends Esports,” said Chris Greeley, Global Head of LoL Esports.
Honoring a Legend: In-Game Event and Ceremony
Uzi will be honored across multiple formats:
- The Hall of Legends in-game event kicks off on June 11, featuring a special event pass chronicling his career.
- Players can earn or purchase exclusive cosmetic items, including ones designed in collaboration with Uzi, themed around his "Mad Dog" playstyle.
- Riot Games will also host a formal induction ceremony on June 6 in Shanghai, China, where Uzi will be officially recognized before fans and peers.
Uzi received overwhelming support from the global voting panel, which includes esports veterans and experts from every major region. His selection highlights not only his individual skill but also his influence on the development of competitive League of Legends.
Mercedes-Benz Tribute: Art and Custom G-Class Gift
As part of a continued partnership with Mercedes-Benz, Uzi will receive a custom MANUFAKTUR Mercedes-Benz G-Class with EQ Technology. The vehicle, personalized to reflect Uzi’s style and accomplishments, is a symbolic tribute to his legendary career.
"We want to honor Uzi with something as individual and unique as his career,” said Bettina Fetzer, Vice President of Digital & Communication at Mercedes-Benz AG.
The automaker will also present a custom art piece blending real-world and in-game elements to highlight the milestones of Uzi’s journey. This art will be part of the Hall of Legends visual storytelling experience.
