Guillermo del Toro Sheds Light On His DEATH STRANDING Contributions

Norman Reedus. Mads Mikkelsen. Guillermo del Toro. The AAA cinematic talent alone that's involved with Death Stranding is enough to convince most gamers to purchase the upcoming Hideo Kojima title.

Besides providing his likeness (as seen in the most recent trailer), what else did film director Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pacific Rim) contribute to Hideo Kokima's Death Stranding?  Only his likeness and his acting chops as the Pan's Labrynith director has revealed that he wasn't involved in the creative process.  "I’m involved as a character.  Kojima-san called me and said, ‘I want you to be a character in the game,’ and I said, ‘Gladly.’ He’s discussed his ideas so I could understand the character, but other than that I’m not involved, creatively, at all."

This comes as something of a surprise as Kojima and del Toro were set to collaborate on a Silent Hills game before Konami pulled the plug.  Games have been speculating for months that del Toro had a hand in shaping Death Stranding but the director has emphatically put those rumors to rest.
