As long as video game consoles have been in existence, consumers have always demanded to get a console first and fast. However, the recent release of both the Playstation 5 and the Xbox Series X may have been the most chaotic and cutthroat yet. With a limited stock of the PS5 and the COVID-19 pandemic causing those unable to pre-order to buy solely online, the influx of buyers caused many retail websites to either crash or sell out of consoles in seconds.
With the internet becoming the wild west of video game console purchases, there have been thousands of people who left their computer empty-handed yesterday. While the race for the PS5 and Xbox is still going strong, there are also a lucky few who recently received their pre-orders, and those who purchased the PS5 from the Playstation website were met with a unique surprise.
A user on Twitter recently posted their PS5 pre-order finally arriving, and it appears that Sony included a note congratulating lucky buyers and offering a code to some free avatars! These avatars include characters from some of the company's best titles like Ghost of Tsushima, Little Big Planet, Ratchet and Clank, and The Last of Us Part II!
