Marvel's Wolverine is one of the biggest releases for PlayStation this year, and Sony is commemorating its launch with a limited edition PS5 console bndle and matching accessories.
Arriving on September 15, the same day as the release of Marvel's Wolverine, the PS5 Digital Edition – Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle features a specially designed consoel inspired by Insomniac’s Battle Reborn suit and claws.
The console channels the intensity of Logan with a bold yellow finish, but the true standout with the design is the explosed claw marks, which looks like the console itself has been in a scrap with the hero. What's cooler, the claw marks let you peek under the hood and actually see the inner workings of the console itself.
The bundle, and I'm using that term loosely, includes a matching yellow and black-colored DualSense wireless controller with claw marks, although you can't see inside the controller itself.
“I wanted to show Wolverine at his fiercest for the Marvel’s Wolverine Limited Edition PS5 Console bundle and accessories,” said Jock, the Scottish artist behind the key art for Marvel’s Wolverine, whose distinctive comic-book work helped shape the bold, graphic aesthetic of this limited-edition design. “I still draw all my artwork traditionally, so the opportunity to marry cutting-edge hardware with the energy and looseness of hand-drawn ink is incredibly exciting. I’m stunned by how well the console and accessories capture the raw energy of the drawing, bringing Wolverine to life in a completely unique way.”
The PS5 Digital Edition – Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle will be available at the PlayStation Store and through select retailers for $649.99. For those who don't need a new console, but still want to enjoy this special design, the DualSense Wireless Controller – Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition will also be available as a standalone purchase for $84.99. Pre-orders for the bundle and accessories begin on August 19 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
In addition to the limited edition console, PS5 slim and PS5 Pro console owners will be able to purchase Console Covers inspired by the Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition. These will be available for both PS5 consoles with disc drives, and consoles without disc drives, a fun little tidbit since Sony has pretty much decided to move on from physical discs.
There's also another special PS5 Pro console cover that will be available, one inspired by the adamantium running through Logan's body. The PS5 Pro Console Covers – Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition has the same dramatic claw-slashed design, only its in a premium metallic finish. Like the yellow cover, it lets you see into the console through the claw marks. There's also a matching DualSense Wireless Controller – Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition with the same metallic finish that will be available for separate standalone purchase.
