As the holiday season ramps up, retailers and video game makers have started to announce their Black Friday deals ahead of the big day. Some retailers have even started making some of their discounts available early.
Sony has yet to officially announce its plans for Black Friday, but prominent video game insider billbil-kun has apparently gotten the jump on it. As posted to Dealabs, Sony will be offering discounts on its PlayStation 5 consoles with the deal promotions kicking off on Friday, November 22nd.
As previously announced the PlayStation 5 Console - Cobalt Star Bundle will be this year's holiday PS5 bundle. Available with either a PS5 console (model - slim) with a disc drive or the PS5 Digital Edition, it also includes in-game cosmetics for Fortnite and 1,000 V-Bucks. This bundle will be priced at $429.99 for the disc drive or $374.99 for the digital edition. This promotion will reportedly last for about two weeks before the prices of these bundles go up to $499.99 and $449.99, respectively.
Additionally, a previous ad posted by Sony (which has since been removed) seemed to confirm a price reduction for PS5 Slim consoles. Beginning November 22nd, you'll be able to get a base PS5 Slim Disc-Free console for $379.99, which is $70 cheaper than its regular price of $449.99. Dealabs actually notes that the $70 discount will only run from November 22nd to December 12th; however, Sony's advertisement listed the deal through December 24th so there appears to be a bit of a discrepancy. The advertisement has since been pulled by Sony, so we're not quite sure if it's part of the company's Black Friday deals or not.
For those in the market for a PS5 Pro, there probably won't be any discounts as it just launched this month. However, you can probably look forward to additional discounts on PlayStation video games, accessories and peripherals. Nothing official has been announced yet.
Sony hasn't made its Black Friday plans public yet. However, with just a few days to go until these rumored deals kick off, an announcement should be coming soon.
Both Microsoft and Nintendo have already revealed their Black Friday discounts for Xbox and Nintendo Switch, respectively. Microsoft is offering $50 off select Xbox Series X|S consoles and thousands of discounted digital games. Nintendo is also discounting some of its biggest blockbuster games and even introducing a few discounted Nintendo Switch bundles.
Retailers like Walmart have launched pre-Black Friday deals, but all of the big deals are still being kept under wraps. Many of the discounts Microsoft and Nintendo have announced will likely be offered at major retailers across the U.S.
