While Microsoft and Sony position themselves to be the top products for the holiday season, players have been weighing out their personal pros and cons between buying an Xbox Series X or a Playstation 5. While the Playstation has many exclusives to award-winning franchise coming in the next couple of years, the Series X/S has the Xbox Game pass, a decently priced subscription service that gives players access to over 100 games.
Considering the high price point for both consoles, it is hard to determine which would be the ideal choice in the long run; however, Jim Ryan, the CEO of PlayStation, may have some plans to help speed up the decision process. In a recent interview with TASS, Ryan discussed how every PS5 console has sold out and how it will continue to sell out in Russia, while also smothering the idea that Sony believes in the idea of the "console wars." One of the biggest things he mentioned, though, was the future of gaming with the Playstation and its accessibility.
Playstation NOW has always been a service to play a large number of games for a monthly fee, and the PS Plus collection is offering a similar, however, more limited, option for that as well. But in response to how Sony would answer to the Xbox Game Pass, Ryan stated, "there is actually news to come." While it is incredibly vague, soft confirmation of a new service is enough for some buyers to decide where their $500 should go.
For now, there is no further information on whether or not this service will come by next year or later but stay tuned for more updates. We would love to hear your thoughts on this idea or even the Xbox Game Pass in the comments below!
