The Last of Us Part II was announced in December of 2016. In that time we've gotten two or three trailers for the highly anticipated sequel - all of which have focused on the game's singleplayer story mode.
The first instalment in the
The Last of Us series featured a multiplayer mode by the name of Factions which would pit two teams against each other. All we've heard about the sequel's multiplayer is that it will indeed feature one - a developer offhandedly said as such during last year's E3 event.
However, some official fine print appears to reveal that the game might not feature a multiplayer mode after all. Boxes for the "Days of Play" PlayStation 4 state that
The Last of Us Part II doesn't support online multiplayer.
While there's a chance that this is simply a mistake made by somebody at Sony, it could also be our first inkling that Naughty Dog have changed their plans, instead opting for an entirely singleplayer experience. Here's hoping its the former as Factions was an awesome part of the first game.
At the time of writing, Sony nor Naughty Dog have commented on this - we'll let you know if they do. Check out the fine print (via
