Yesterday, a brand new and exciting trailer for
The Last of Us Part II made its debut during PlayStation's State of Play presentation.
Since then, we've found out a bunch of intriguing information about the highly anticipated sequel. We got see what's
included in the various editions of the game and, Neil Druckmann, the director revealed that it will be the longest game Naughty Dog has ever made.
The exact scale of the game wasn't revealed, however, we now know that
The Last of Us Part II will be such a sizeable game that physical copies of the game will contain a set of two discs. This was pointed out on Twitter by the reputable source that is
Wario64 and has since been corroborated by others — but not officially confirmed.
It's quite rare that a game turns out to be so large that it requires two discs but it does occasionally happen.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a notable and relatively recent example of a massive game which requried multiple discs. That sequel took up over 100GB, therefore, it's likely that
The Last of Us Part II will be just as demanding.
In
Red Dead Redemption 2's case, one disc was dedicated solely to downloading the game whilst the other was required to actually play the game. Again, this will almost certainly prove to be the case with
The Last of Us Part II as well.
