The Last of Us is a masterpiece on all accounts - from its writing to its acting and beyond. One key component of the acclaimed video-game was its music. Therefore it should come as no surprise that Gustavo Santaolalla, its composer, will be returning for the sequel.

The Last of Us Part II was officially announced during The Game Awards of 2016 and, similar to another highly-anticipated game which was announced that year, hasn't yet had its release date made public. There have been rumours and suggestions that it will be dropping during 2019 - such as an Amazon listing which states that it will release in late-March, and a former IGN editor who seemed certain that it will drop this year.

Now we've gotten another tease from none other than Santaolalla. The renowned musician recently took to the stage in Kuwait and made mention of the upcoming and highly-antcipated sequel wherein he stated the The Last of Us Part II "will be coming very soon."

And this isn't just hearsay, a video of Santaolalla's statement has been shared on The Last of Us' dedicated subreddit - you can check that out below.
