With the rise of online shopping, Black Frdiay is no longer just a single day; now we get multiple weeks of online holiday deals to sort through. Walmart has kicked off the shopping season with the first of its multi-week Black Friday 2025 event.
Event 1, which runs this weekend from November 14-16, is now live, featuring hundreds of discounts for video games across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. We're not seeing much in terms of console discounts, although there are a few bundles available. In all honesty, this feels like a bit of an appetizer ahead of the main Black Friday course, which runs from November 25-30.
Still, there are some deals to be had, so we've gone ahead and highlighted some of the best discounts we've found for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. This particular article focuses specifically on PlayStation, but be sure to check our other articles as we continue to find you the best deals this holiday season.

It's worth noting that I've gotten the DualSense Wireless Controller for the PS5 for cheaper in the past. Saving $12 on the controller doesn't feel like a great deal. I know tariffs have seen prices rise across the board, but in the past, I've gotten a DualSense Controller for the PS5 for as little as $35. I would suggest waiting a little while longer unless you are in desperate need.
Also not listed is the recently announced Fortnite Flower Chaos PS5 Bundle. This will be available beginning November 20th, and there are rumors that it could be discounted by $100 this holiday season.

Unfortunately, there are no deals on Battlefield 6 or Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, but a few of this year's blockbusters are available at a discount, as well as some classic must-plays for those who may be new to PlayStation. Borderlands 4 at $49.99 is a fantastic deal considering it released this year, and Gears of War: Reloaded -- previously an Xbox exclusive -- is available at just $29.99.
The usual PlayStation exclusives -- God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us Part II, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales -- are available for cheaper, though I imagine the savings could get bigger for Event 2 or possibly at other retailers.

Walmart's Black Friday Event 1 discounts are available this weekend only, Nov. 14-16, but expect more deals to become available soon. Event 2 runs through the actual Black Friday shopping day, from November 25-30, and will be followed by Cyber Monday deals on December 1.
