The first teaser trailer for Prime Video's Fallout Season 2 was revealed during the Amazon Upfront livestream.
The 30-second teaser, which serves as our first look at the upcoming season of the hit series, shows Lucy (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) 50 miles out from what was once Las Vegas. With the Geiger Counter sound clicking in the background, signifying radiation is in the air, the Ghoul and Lucy look at each other before setting off to cross the wasteland of the Mojave.
As the camera pulls back, we get our first official glimpse at the city skyline of New Vegas, the post-apocalyptic nickname for what was once Las Vegas. The teaser confirms that Season 2 will, in fact, take viewers to one of the most iconic locations from the video game series. For those unfamiliar with the video game franchise, New Vegas serves as the central setting for 2010's Fallout: New Vegas game. It's a post-apocalyptic city that has been built upon the ruins of pre-war Las Vegas.
Season 2 of Fallout will presumably pick up just after the thrilling conclusion of the show's first season which saw The Ghoul join forces with Lucy and begin their trek into the wasteland. Although not much else has been revealed yet, fans can expect plenty of other easter eggs from the video games to pop up in the upcoming season, including the infamous Deathclaw.
Prime Video's Fallout series is based on the popular video game franchise of the same name. It introduces fans to a post-apocalyptic world set 200 years after the Great War, a catastrophic global nuclear conflict that resulted in the near-total annihilation of human civilization.
The series follows Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell), a resident of Vault 33 who is forced to the surface to rescue her kidnapped father, Hank. While venturing through the irradiated wasteland, she encounters Maximus (Aaron Moten), a squire of the Brotherhood of Steel, and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins), a former Hollywood actor turned mutated bounty hunter who has survived in the wasteland for over 200 years.
Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.
Fallout Season 2 will premiere on Prime Video this December. The series has also been renewed for a third season.
