One of the big surprise announcements to come out of Gamescom in August was the reveal of Secret Level. The adult-animated anthology series from Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio features original short stories set within the worlds of some of the most beloved and popular video games.
The series will feature 15 "mind-bending" animated episodes inspired by games like Armored Core, Mega Man, Sifu, Warhammer 40,000, and more. There hasn't been much info since the initial reveal, which was accompanied by a teaser trailer, but it seems that Amazon may be gearing up to provide us with another fresh look.
MP1st first reported on a newly leaked trailer for Secret Level. The leaked trailer, which originated from a Telegram channel, has since been removed due to a DMCA takedown notice, but not before the reveal of a star-studded voice cast.
Some of Hollywood's biggest names are attached to the project, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Hart, and Keanu Reeves. We don't know what characters these actors will be voicing in the series, but that's some serious star power.
Other names featured in the series include Temuera Morrison (The Book of Boba Fett), Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie), Merle Dandridge (The Last of Us), and Claudia Doumit (The Boys), alongside Michael Beach, Clive Standen, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ricky Whittle, Gabriel Luna, Emily Swallow, and more.
Regarding the leaked trailer itself, MP1st notes that "despite being nearly finished, it contains two scenes with unfinished animation, indicating its work-in-progress status." The actual contents of what was shown were not detailed and the trailer has since been removed.
Secret Level is created by and executive produced by Tim Miller, the creative mind behind Netflix's Love, Death + Robots, another impressive and gorgeously animated anthology series that focuses on a variety of original stories. Secret Level, though, garnered a ton of attention due to the fact that these stories will bring to life some of the most beloved and iconic games. Secret Level is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Prime Video worldwide on December 10th. Given that the trailer was leaked in an unfinished state, it would indicate that it could be a few more weeks until it is officially released.
