Given that Showtime calls the upcoming TV adaptation of Halo their "most ambitious series ever," expectations are pretty high, especially when it comes to the classic Xbox franchise’s long-time fans.
According to Executive Producer Kiki Wolfkill, who heads up the 343 Industries studio's transmedia and entertainment efforts, Showtime’s Halo won't be completely faithful to the source material, as the producers may "shift dates, locations, or ethnicity of characters” to create something less practicable.
As you probably know, Master Chief’s face is one of the biggest mysteries in the beautiful world of video gaming, making the series' main protagonist that much enigmatic. Although it's perfectly fine in a video game, the TV show will definitely reveal new details on John-117 (Chief's real name), but Wolfkill and his crew will apparently do their best to "respect the fans and what they love about the IP.”
While it's unclear when the 9-episode series debuts, it's expected to start filming in Hungary in June.
