Following the incredibly successful launch of Battlefield 6, Activision is now unloading its own heavy hitter in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The latest installment in Activision's blockbuster shooter franchise is set to launch on Friday, November 14th, and for those wondering, yes, you will be able to play on day one with an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be available to play on day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscriptions. As a quick reminder, Game Pass Ultimate is the highest tier membership at $29.99 a month, and offers access to over 500 games on Xbox console and PC. This includes new games on day one, such as new Xbox-published games (like Black Ops 7) and third-party games. It also includes EA Play and Ubisoft+ Classics.

PC Game Pass costs $16.49 a month and grants access to hundreds of PC games, which will also include Black Ops 7 at launch.

So at the very minimum, you'll be able to play the base game for free with a Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription. But remember, you're only able to access the game as long as you have an active membership.

How to Upgrade to the Black Ops 7 Vault Edition with Game Pass

Also available is the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Vault Edition, which includes all of the following:

  • BlackCell (1 Season)**
    • Includes: Battle Pass, 20 Tier Skips, 1,100 CP and more
  • Operator Collection
    • 4 Operator Skins: Harper, Karma, T.E.D.D. and Reaper EWR-3
  • Mastercraft Collection
    • 5 Mastercraft Weapons
  • Ultra GobbleGum Pack for Zombies
    •  GobbleGums of Ultra rarity for Black Ops 7
  • Permanent Unlock Token for Black Ops 7 (available at launch)

Normally priced at $99.99, Game Pass subscribers can upgrade to the Vault Edition for just $30. Doing so will unlock all the bonus content available in the Vault Edition offering.

Now it's important to note that upgrading to the Vault Edition does not mean you can let your Game Pass membership lapse. You'll still need the base game, which is technically only available as long as you are a Game Pass member. So even if you unlock the Vault Edition, an active Game Pass Ultimate or Game Pass PC subscription will still be required to access the base game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will not have an early access period, so whether you stick to the base game or upgrade the Vault Edition, we'll all be jumping in at the same time on November 14.
