The Halo franchise has been Microsoft's crowning achievement for over a decade, creating a sprawling alien world with its own lore, history and feels like more than just a basic sci-fi shooter. Since its release, the franchise has released five mainline titles, with a sixth on the way and many spin-offs. However, the one outlet that it has been struggling to reach has been television or movies.
For as long as Halo has been a hit, people have been trying to bring the series to the screen, with a few opportunities getting much closer to reality than others. However, fans no longer have to wonder whether or not an adaption will come thanks to Showtime and Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment. With their help and guidance from 343 Industries, the game's current developers, Halo is shaping up to be a TV series that no one will forget.
While production is getting off of the ground, one of the confirmed castmembers has been Natascha McElhone as both Dr. Catherine Halsey and the voice of Cortana; however, due to scheduling issues, she has decided to step down from her voice work (though she will remain to play Halsey). To fill those shoes, the showrunners have turned to the original Cortana herself, Jen Taylor!
Fans will undoubtedly jump for joy to know that the iconic voice behind Cortana will continue to be there for Master Chief. We would love to hear your thoughts on the news, as well, in the comments below!
Halo is set to follow "an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. Halo will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future."
Halo is coming to TV screens soon!
