Halo is the biggest video game series from Microsoft for the Xbox line of consoles. It is so big that the software giant is currently working on the TV series with Showtime for the past five years.
Now, just recently Kiki Wolfkill, the transmedia boss at 343 Industries, made it clear he hopes the Halo TV series will one day become has huge as Game of Thrones, but minus the incest.
We hope for the same thing, but minus Season 7 and 8, because they are the lowest points of Game of Thrones.
"It's hard to find an analog. We talk about Game of Thrones a lot in terms of scope and scale and complexity of relationships," she said.
"A lot of the background of Halo is this sort of political drama. It's something that [is touched on] really lightly in the games and you see more of in some of the other mediums," she said. "Some of that [Game of Thrones-style] complexity is interesting."
Showtime and Microsoft have failed to make any substantial moves to get things up and running, but things are changing. As it stands right now, production is full steam ahead, so let’s hope we get to see the pilot episode as early as 2020.
If it turns out badly, then at least fans can say most movies and TV series adapted from video games failed to impress as well.
