Lost Planet, Capcom's former flagship series, is dead, but you can check out the criticality acclaimed trilogy on you Xbox One right now, as it finally is backward compatible. Starting today, you can freely play Lost Planet, Lost Planet 2, Lost Planet 3, and Lost Planet: Colonies on your current-gen console.

Since the official announcement of the much-desired Xbox One backward compatibility feature in 2015, the Microsoft team has added hundreds of high-profile Xbox 360 games and dozens of original Xbox games to the ever-expanding list of older video games playable on XO. What's even better, if you already own any of those last-gen titles, you can play them on your Xbox One at no additional charge.

In the Lost Planet series, the player follows a number of protagonists on E.D.N III, a forgotten planet in the process of an ice age (it changed into a tropical desert in Lost Planet 2), as they survive and fight the hostile environment, various alien creatures, and even those planning to colonize the alien planet.

The last entry in the series, Lost Planet 3, was published by Capcom for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013.
