The waiting is now over for Xbox fans, as Microsoft's highly anticipated next-gen console, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, has launched today, and players all over the world will finally be able to get their hands on the coveted new platform; well, at least some of them.
Amazon has shared some sour news with those who have pre-ordered any of Microsoft's next-gen consoles, warning that customers may not be getting neither the Xbox Series X nor Xbox Series S until after Christmas, which is not only sour news but also quite disappointing.
This news has been doing the rounds online, as unsatisfied customers begin sharing Amazon's email that reads as follows:
"We're contacting you with an update regarding your order of Xbox Series X. We expect to ship your console in the coming weeks as we receive more inventory in November and December. At this time, we anticipate that you will receive your Xbox Series X by 12/31 or before. We are making every effort to get it to you as soon as possible and apologize for any inconvenience."
Now, and while this is definitely not ideal, Amazon also reveals that they are more than willing to cancer the orders from customers who no longer want their Xbox SeriesX|S console, but that's the only solution that they have given.
Unfortunately, this is all on Amazon. While the company can't do anything about the lack of Xbox SeriesX|S inventory, they could and should have stopped pre-orders timely. Some customers even claim to have placed their pre-orders all the way back in September, and receiving and email one day before the console launches worldwide is quite irresponsible.
Microsoft's Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are available worldwide today.
