PlatinumGames' Cancelled Xbox One Exclusive SCALEBOUND Has Been Rated By Amazon France

According to a newly released Amazon France listing, PlatinumGames' Xbox One exclusive Scalebound, that was officially cancelled by Microsoft over a year ago, is actually coming to the system in 2020...

There's no denying that Microsoft has been facing some major obstacles when it comes to supporting their Xbox One with big-budget exclusive titles since the system's launch back in 2013. While Sony and Nintendo have been firing on all cylinders with wonderful video games like Spider-Man, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Super Mario Odyssey, Microsoft couldn't successfully launch a single major IP for their Xbox One across the entire eight generation of consoles.

PlatinumGames' Scalebound could have been that system-seller Microsoft has desperately needed, but that action-RPG was officially cancelled in 2017. At its core, Scalebound was supposed to be a slasher with some role-playing mechanics that would also allow you to ride a dragon. Unfortunately, after at least four years of development at Platinum, Microsoft has decided to can the four-player co-op title.

Almost two years later, Amazon announced that Scalebound is back and is coming to Xbox One in 2020 for €69,99. While it definitely would be great news, it might be time to cool your jets, as Amazon France is still listing another Xbox One potential exclusive, cancelled Fable legends with a 2020 release date as well. Although Amazon might be right, it seems like it's the right time to just let Scalebound die.

Scalebound is the Xbox One exclusive from Hideki Kamiya and Platinum Games, the studio behind Viewtiful Joe, Bayonetta, Vanquish, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and The Wonderful 101. Here be dragons.

Scalebound was officially cancelled on January 10, 2017.
