It's been a bumpy road for Sony's
Uncharted movie. The long-delayed adaptation of the blockbuster action-adventure series
lost its director just last month; but, like the game's titular character, Nathan Drake, the film has somehow found its footing once again.
Following the departure of Shawn Levy, who left in December to take the helm of Fox's
Free Guy, Sony has reportedly tapped
10 Cloverfield Lane's Dan Trachtenberg to direct the adaptation.
Spider-Man actor Tom Holland still appears committed to the project and the young star will play a younger version of Nathan Drake. Holland actually took to social media earlier today with an intriguing tweet that either hints at a possible trailer for
Spider-Man: Far From Home or the news regarding
Uncharted finding a new director.
Obviously, the
Uncharted movie will be based on the popular PlayStation video game series that follows the adventures of treasure hunter Nathan Drake. While we don't have specific plot details, the adaptation is said to chronicle young Nathan Drake's first encounter with professional treasure hunter Sullivan.
Given how long this movie has taken to get off the ground, it's understandable why we still don't have a production date or release date.
