The Winter update for Clash of Clans is right around the corner and Supercell Games has officially begun the sneak peeks. Kicking things off, the developer of the long-running mobile game has revealed the new Town Hall 18.
Upgrading to Town Hall 18 will require 25M Gold and comes with a 14 day wait period. It boast 10.8K Hitpoints and comes with 5M Gold/Elixir and 50K dark Elixir capacity.
The big new feature with Town Hall 18 is Guardians. These are new units that defend your Village when attacked, each in their own unique way. Guardians replace the standard Town Hall defenses and patrol your Village in an area around the Town Hall. Any troops that our defense targets will not go for the Town Hall, and the Inferno Artillery and Poison Blasts are no longer a thing at Town Hall 18.
You can select and upgrade Guardians through a special menu in the Town Hall, and you can switch between them at any time. However, Guardians cannot defend while you are upgrading them in normal attacks, but they will be there in Wars and Ranked, even when upgrading. Upgrading a Guardian does require a free builder, and you are able to upgrade them both at the same time.
There are two types of Guardians to choose from for now: Longshot and Smasher.
Longshot
Longshot is a ranged Guardian that targets ground and air troops and does splash damage. Its ability,Final Blow, leaves an explosive surprise for enemies when defeated.

Smasher
The Smasher is a melee Guardian that also targets ground and air units, and also does splash damage. It becomes enraged if the Town Hall is destroyed, getting a 60% damage increase. When the Smasher is destroyed, it leaves behind a Rage spell so that it can boost any defenses, heroes, or Clan Castle troops in the area.

Both Guardians deal splash damage, though it’s not nearly as intense as the multi-beam attacks from the Inferno Artillery. The only spell that works effectively against them is the Freeze Spell, so don’t bother trying to weaken them with Poison. Because they can’t be poisoned, Headhunters won’t target them; however, the Poison Lizard can damage them effectively. Other ways to slow them down include the Archer Queen's Frozen Arrow and attacks from Frosty.
Also arriving with Town Hall 18 is the new Super Wizard Tower, which is created by merging two normal Wizard Towers. This new defensive tower will attack one troop, with attack chains to 15 other troops. The new attack range is increased to 8 tile, one longer than the Wizard Tower. It has two upgrade levels, and you'll be able to build two of them.

Town Hall 18 also introduces new levels for already existing building sand troops, including the Multi-Gear Tower, Air Defense, Multi-Archer Tower, Bomb Tower, Ricochet Cannon, and Walls. The Gold Mine, Elixir Collector, and Dark Elixir Drill will also be getting new levels along with Gold Storage, Elixir Storage, Dark Elixir Storage, Clan Castle, Barracks, Spell Factory, Laboratory, and Hero Hall.
Upgrading to Barracks Level 19 (26M Elixir) will unlock the new Meteor Golem. This temporary troop from the Halloween event is now permanent and is much stronger than before. It comes with 19,000 Hitpoints and deals 650 damage, but requires 30 housing space. The Meteor Golem will target any building, and can split into two Meteormites in order to throw one over the wall, essentially splitting the hitpoints and damage between the two. Once the building it destroyed, it can reform into the larger Golem.

Judo Sloth has a full rundown of the Town Hall 18 update, including details about the new building, defense, and troop levels. He also previews gameplay of the Longshot and Smasher Guardians, as well as the Meteor Golem.
Supercell has not yet announced when the Clash of Clans Winter 2025 update and Town Hall 18 will release, but they typically arrive shortly after the sneak peek period and around the time when Hammer Jam ends, which is scheduled for November 17th. With today's sneak peek containing so many details about Town Hall 18, it's hard to imagine what else Supercell has planned for sneak peeks, if anything. For what it's worth, Town Hall 17 was released last year on November 25, 2024, so we can probably expect Town Hall 18 to be released sometime this week, maybe Thursday (11/20).
