Nexon and Marvel's strategic card-battling mobile game
MARVEL Battle Lines has received its first major update since its launch in late October. The update, 2.4, raises the max player level and introduces 45 new battle cards and 100 additional stages to the game. Additionally, today's update expands upon the original story with new campaign chapters written by Marvel writer Alex Irvine.
The two new chapters will take us to iconic locations from the comics, including the Dark Dimension, Black Panther's homeland of Wakanda, and Karma-Taj, where Doctor Strange trained. Ultimately, it will lead to a battle with Thanos. Today's campaign expansion involving the Mad Titan arrives at an interesting time, as many expect Marvel to debut the trailer for
Avengers 4 this week.
In addition to the new campaign chapters, today's update introduces "The Arrivals." The first major Card Pack adds 45 new cards (35 character cards, 10 action cards). New characters include Baby Groot, Spider-Woman, Red Skull (WW2), Tiger Shark, Spider-Man (Spider-Punk), Black Widow (Space Suit), Captain America (Marvel NOW!), and
tons more.
There are plenty of other new features and changes in today's update, including a Special Ops update that brings new sub-quests, deck sharing with guildmates, a level raise from 30 to 40, changes to Arena Mode, and more. You can also experience the Holiday Party Incident, a limited-time special event that "shakes up the formula of the game."
