A new season of content is coming to MARVEL Snap and if you're a fan of "villains" — or maybe just the misunderstood — you're going to like what's on the way.
The April 2024 season for MARVEL Snap features the Thunderbolts! Over the next couple of weeks, developer Second Dinner will be introducing six new characters, two new locations, a new Leagues event, and more.
Baron Zemo is the face of the new season. A 3 Cost card with 5 Power, Zemo's On Reveal ability recruits the lowest-Cost card from your opponent's deck to your side of this location. Zemo is available as a reward in the April Season Pass.
Joining him in the game today are fellow Thunderbolts alumni and antiheroes:
- Red Hulk (6 Cost, 11 Power)
- When your opponent ends a turn with unspent Energy, +4 Power. (if in hand or in play)
- U.S. Agent (2 Cost, 3 Power)
- Ongoing: 4, 5, and 6-Cost cards here have -3 Power.
- Red Guardian (3 Cost, 3 Power)
- On Reveal: Afflict the lowest-Power enemy card here with -2 Power and remove its text.
- White Widow (2 Cost, 2 Power)
- On Reveal: Add a Widow’s Kiss to your opponent’s side of this location.
- Widow’s Kiss (0 Cost, 0 Power)
- Ongoing: This has -4 Power. Disable this ability if your side of this location is full.
- Valentina (2 Cost, 3 Power)
- On Reveal: Add a random 6-Cost card to your hand. Give it -2 Cost and -3 Power.
Hope Summers and Red Hulk are available today, with the rest of the cards dropping weekly. U.S. Agent will be released on April 9th, followed by Red Guardian on April 16th, White Widow on April 23rd, and Valentina on April 30th. New Series 4 and Series 5 cards will appear in the Spotlight Cache and the Token Shop.
Additionally, there are two new Locations: Castle Zemo (The first card you play here switches sides) and Thunderbolts Tower (After Turn 5, give all cards here -2 Power).
MARVEL Snap is a free-to-play digital collectible card game with characters from all parts of the Marvel Universe. Released in 2022, the game aims to simplify the mechanics of card battling and has been praised for its approachability and replay value. Whereas most collectible card battling games feature lengthy matches and complicated combat mechanics, MARVEL Snap emphasizes fast-paced play and, all things considered, relatively simplified combat.
Late last year, there was speculation that MARVEL Snap could be shutting down as Nuverse's parent company ByteDance planned to exit the gaming space. Nuverse immediately shot down the rumors, stating that Marvel SNAP would continue to "operate and flourish." This season is perhaps proof that MARVEL Snap is here to stay for the foreseeable future.
