Capcom has made a rather surprising announcement, as they have revealed that a brand-new
Mega Man X title is currently in the works; the only problem is that it is not the
Mega Man X9 game that fans have been waiting for, and that it will only release on mobile devices.
Mega Man X DiVE is the new mobile game that Capcom announced, which is expected to release for iOS and Android devices at one point in 2019. The good news is that this new entry in the
Mega Man X series will be a free-to-play title, the bad news is that it is still not
Mega Man X9.
Capcom reassures that every single element that has made the
Mega Man X series a household name will be present, from the dashing, wall jumping, and shooting, to the classic boss battles that are a staple to the classic
Mega Man,
Mega Man X,
and
Mega Man Zero series as a whole.
Players will be able to control X, Zero, and Axl, and from what can be seen in the absurdly brief trailer that Capcom released, the game borrows the art styl from
Mega Man X8 so, without further ado, check out the trailer below.
