Blizzard Entertainment has already announced that their mobile take on the
Diablo series would be released this year, but it's basically everything we know about its release date four months after the title's official announcement at BlizzCon 2018. While nothing has been set in stone yet, there's a chance
Immortal's release date will be revealed soon, as the game is apparently almost finished.
According to NetEase's Chief Financial Officer Yang Zhaoxuan,
Diablo: Immortal is “
pretty much ready” for release and the developer doesn't have any current plans to delay the divisive project. Zhaoxuan revealed this information during a conference call for financial analysts with Chinese developer NetEase, which licenses games from Activision Blizzard such as
World of Warcraft and
Overwatch.
“
As to the exact launch timetable, I would encourage the market to direct their questions directly to Activision Blizzard," he added. As revealed in a recent
Kotaku report
, Diablo: Immortal was going to be released exclusively to Chinese audiences. Reportedly, the acclaimed American company had decided to create the China-only game mostly because the quality bar in the Chinese market is extremely low, but Blizzard has ultimately ditched those plans and will release
Immortal globally in one go in 2019.
Enter the world of Diablo Immortal, a new entry in the Diablo universe. Taking place between the events of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III, this mobile massively multiplayer online ARPG is a true Diablo hack-and-slash adventure, all in the palm of your hand.
Diablo Immortal will launch for iOS and Android in 2019.
