A Third Version Of POKEMON SUN And MOON May Be Coming To The Nintendo Switch
Pokemon Sun and Moon have only just hit the Nintendo 3DS, but a new report points to yet another version being released when the Nintendo Switch launches next year. Hit the jump for details...
Eurogamer reports that a third version of Pokemon Sun and Moon - currently codenamed Pokemon Stars - is set to be released on the Nintendo Switch late next year. According to the site, this version (which is reminiscent of how Pokemon Yellow followed Red and Blue) will use better quality assets than the 3DS version as the Switch can output higher resolutions. It will also presumably feature some extra content, and this latest re-release points to Nintendo making a habit out of doing this for the Switch.
There are of course plenty of original titles coming to the system, but it's clear that the company will also be debuting a lot of upgraded versions of their most popular games (Mario Kart for example). It's hard to say how well that will sit with gamers, but it's an interesting approach, that's for sure. More details about the Switch are set to be officially announced next January, so with any luck, we'll get some more information then. For now though, feel free to weigh in with your thoughts below.
