POKEMON GO Features First Look At New Mythical Pokemon In Main Series Games

First reported after this past weekends Community Day, an official post on Pokemon GO's website now confirms that this mystery 'mon is in fact a new Mythical Pokemon!

Originally seen over the weekend following Pokemon GO's most recent Community Day Event, an interesting and never-before-seen Pokemon began sprouting up, confusing trainers everywhere.  Well, it looks like Niantic and The Pokemon Company have collaborated in its first cross promotion where a brand new Pokemon is released in the popular free-to-play phone game, Pokemon GO.  

Professor Willow and Professor Oak, featured in the video below, look to have identified this mystery Pokemon as a new Mythical Steel-type Pokemon, Meltan!  There's no real clarification yet from either company on whether it is the first Generation Eight Pokemon, or one of the last 'mon released for Generation Seven, the set of Pokemon tied to their most recent Main Series games for 3DS, Pokemon Sun & Moon (2016).

While players can't officially obtain it in Pokemon GO, as it turns into Ditto after completing a catch, it is hinted at as a possible reward for completing researches.  Stay tuned for more information as both Let's GO Pikachu & Eevee release dates inch closer.  You can watch the official video below:
