This month marks the seventh anniversary of Niantic's Pokémon GO, which launched all the way back in 2016. In the beginning, there was a very limited selection of creatures to capture, with some of the pocket monsters even being regional and unavailable to most players.
Since the early days of Pokémon GO there have been a lot of updates. Now you can add your friends, trade and raid with them as well as send them gifts, and more. You can hatch eggs, utilize a variety of items, and walk/battle/play with a buddy Pokémon. Players even have the option to fight against Team Rocket - including Jessie, James, and Giovanni. There are also hundreds of possible Pokémon to catch now, giving players much more incentive to log in than when the initial launch took place.
The game still sees a lot of action as players continue to play at their local parks and the like, and now it's likely there will be an even larger surge going forward as the latest update may be one of the most exciting so far. Now, even players at home will have an opportunity to capture more Pokémon with Version 0.275.0, effectively doubling the spawn radius that the creatures appear in.
While it may not seem so at first or to players unfamiliar with the game, this is a big deal and can even help make it easier to catch the rare shiny versions of Pokémon going forward. Be sure to stay tuned as we update you on what's coming to the game next!
Will you guys be checking out the new update now that there are twice the available Pokémon? Regardless of your take, leave your thoughts in the comments as always!
