The launch of Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for Bungie’s sci-fi shooter. As the first installment in the Year of Prophecy, this expansion not only introduces new narrative arcs and locations but also kicks off a major shift in how Destiny content is delivered going forward. One can only hope that it turns things into a positive and fixes some issues for players. For those wondering when they can play it, we got you covered with the exact times of when servers are going down and when you can expect to hop into the game and play.
A New Strategy Of Two Expansions Per Year
Bungie is abandoning its traditional one-expansion-per-year model. Instead, Destiny 2 players will now receive two expansions per year, with a free update in between. According to Bungie, each expansion will be closer in scale to Rise of Iron the 2016 expansion from the original Destiny. This approach allows for more consistent storytelling and gameplay updates without relying solely on seasonal content.
The first of these new expansions is The Edge of Fate, which takes players to the mysterious world of Kepler and brings back the enigmatic faction known as The Nine.
