Pokemon Go has a new set of Pokemons with shadows that cause them pain. However, many players are choosing the cool factor over curing a Pokemon in constant pain.

Ever heard of a Shadow Pokemon? These creatures are a thing in Pokemon Go, and they look pretty cool according to many fans. However, any Pokemon who is in the Shadow form is in a constant state of experiencing pain. Were not certain of the level of pain, but the pain is real nonetheless.

The idea is for players to love their Pokemon so much that they would go on and get the ingredients to purify the creature and cure it of this dark aura. Unfortunately, it would appear as if the plan as slightly backfired, because while a lot of fans have chosen to purify their Shadow Pokemon, others are not too interested in doing so.

You see, several Pokemon Go players would rather keep their creature in the Shadow aesthetics, primarily because it looks cool. There is no interest in healing them despite them being weaker while purifying would make them stronger.

“I wanna keep my shadow Pokémon,” according to one fan on Twitter. “Ever since the Celebi movie I’ve wanted dark Pokémon.”

“They look much cooler as Shadows,” another stated.

“I want to keep my Shadows,” says one person on Reddit. “I know the purified version is more powerful ... but the Shadow looks so sweet! I’m taking looks over stats here.”

Interesting enough, some fans have stated they want to collect only Shadow Pokemon, which is a sign that Niantic might have to change the backstory of
