All Hell broke loose when Blizzard revealed Diablo Immortal, and I mean this in the worst possible way since the game is coming out for mobile devices—which comes off as a slap in the face for longtime fans of the demon-slaying series.

If you are not aware of the whole Diablo Immortal debacle, Blizzard revealed this past weekend that they are working on a new Diablo title. The announcement was made during their annual Blizzcon and it sounded like them working on a new Diablo project was great news, except that it wasn't. For the longest time, fans have been wanting Diablo 4 to be announced and Blizzard decided to reveal Diablo Immortal instead; thus showing that Blizzard seemeingly doesn't care about their fans, or the Diablo franchise as a whole.

Yesterday, veteran Diablo 2 Producer Mark Kern took to Twitter to give us his opinion on the Diablo Immortal/Blizzard fiasco, stating that the fans shouldn't be treated as neither toxic or "entitled" for being harsh on Blizzard. He also mentions that Blizzard is to blame for this, especially after the developer themselves hyped this whole thing up and were not able to deliver.

Mark Kern's Twitter thread about Blizzard and Diablo Immortal is quite a long one, and it wouldn't be fair to quote bits and pieces of what he said so here's his two cents on the whole debacle:

Enter the world of Diablo Immortal, a new entry in the Diablo universe. Taking place between the events of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III, this mobile massively multiplayer online ARPG is a true Diablo hack-and-slash adventure, all in the palm of your hand.

Diablo Immortal will be available for Android and iOS in 2019.
