The highly anticipated anime movie based on the acclaimed Ni no Kuni game series has received its first teaser trailer, giving us our first good opportunity to learn more about the animation's story and main characters. The anime will be focused on Yū, Haru, and Kotona's friendship and their great quest to save Kotona's life by traveling back and forth between our reality and the odd Ni no Kuni world.

Considering that Ni no Kuni is being directed by Yoshiyuki Momose (The Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Pom Poko), with his long-time collaborator Joe Hisaishi (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away) composing the score, it comes as no surprise that the quality of the actual animation and soundtrack might easily rival Studio Ghibli's best productions such as Howl's Moving Castle and My Neighbor Totoro.

Warner Bros. Japan and Level 5 have also confirmed that Kento Yamazaki (Death Note, Orange) will voice Yū, with Mamoru Miyano dubbing Yoki, Kenjiro Tsuda starring as Gabaras, Maaya Sakamoto as Saki and Velsa, Kouichi Yamadera as Balton, Yuuki Kaji as Danpo, and Serishun and Haruka Minase.

Be sure to take a closer look at OLM's take on Level 5's beloved Ni no Kuni series down below:

Ni no Kuni is set to debut in Summer 2019 in Japan.
