Cyanide Studio, creators of the
Styx and
Blood Bowl series, are ready to take you on yet another dangerous journey. Their latest video game,
Call of Cthulhu, will hit stores this Tuesday, giving you a chance to take control of private investigator Edward Pierce. The protagonist arrives to 1920s Boston to investigate an imposing mansion and uncover the secrets of a tragic death in the Hawkins family.
Cyanide's take on H.P. Lovecraft's body of work features a semi-open world environment that is incorporating the most important themes of Lovecraftian and psychological thriller set in a terrifying world of conspiracies, cultists, and cosmic horrors. Naturally, the upcoming title is inspired not only by Lovecraft's short story
The Call of Cthulhu, but also 1981's role-playing game with the same title.
Considering that
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth is widely known as one of the most underappreciated games of the last decade and can be found on the greatest book to game translations ever made lists, it will be interesting to see the Cyanide version of that story.
Call of Cthulhu's launch trailer has been released and you can check out the upcoming horror down below:
Uncover the chilling mysteries of this Narrative RPG game, descending deep into a world of cosmic horrors, creeping madness, and shrouded Old Gods within Lovecraft’s iconic universe.
Call of Cthulhu will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam on the 30th of October.
