Epic Games has revealed the title of Fortnite's next season, and it sounds like it will be gaming-inspired. Announced on social media, Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 is called "Override."

And while it wasn't explicitly confirmed, it sounds like it will have a Gaming Legends theme.

The announce was accompanied by an image with futuristic cyberpunk key art and a strong digital glitch aesthetic. It looks like a blend of Tron and Cyberpunk 2077 meets modern esports branding.

"Break the rules, change the game," the tagline says, perhaps referring to the gaming theme. The post also confirms that Chapter 7 Season 4 will go live on August 20.

There have been multiple leaks and rumors surrounding the highly anticipated Gaming Legends theme for Chapter 7 Season 4. Prominent leakers ShiinaBR and HYPEX have suggested crossovers with high profile gaming franchises including Sonic the HedgehogMega ManPersonaPac-Man, and Tetris. There have also been reports that Kingdom Hearts and Crash Bandicoot could be involved.

Now it's worth noting that not all of these collaborations will be featured in the season's battle pass. In all likelihood, we'll get one or two popular video game characters featured in the season pass and the rest will be added via the Item Shop, which you'll have to purchase individually or as bundles with V-Bucks. And you can bet they won't come cheap.

Now before Fortnite Override arrives this month, Epic will, of course, host a send off event for Chapter 7 Season 3. The "Fortnite Unstable" live event will take place on August 15 and conclude the current Fortnite Runners arc.

With about two weeks to go until the new season, expect Epic to begin to slowly drop hints about Fortnite Override within the game. And, of course, we can always look to social media for the flood of leaks that will undoubtedly be unearthed.

In the meantime, we've still got about two more weeks of the current season, which means a bit more time to fill out your Sprite collection. Perhaps the biggest question heading into the new season is whether or not the Sprite mechanic will extend into Fortnite Override. It's proven to be very popular with players, though some are beginning to feel the drain of having to hunt for some of the rarer Sprites, like Grim and Zero Point.
