We've still got about a month left of the current season of Fortnite, but new details have started to emerge for Chapter 7, Season 4. While nothing has been confirmed yet, leaks have pointed to the next season of Fortnite revolving around other games.
Epic Games, of course, is no stranger to collaborations and limited time events, but we've yet to see an entire season dedicated to "gaming legends."
According insiders ShiinaBR, HYPEX, and SamLeakss, Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 4 will feature collaborations with Sonic the Hedgehog, Persona 5, Megaman, Marvel Tokon, Kingdom Hearts, Crash Bandicoot, Vampire Survivors, and more. There have been numerous rumors about a Kingdom Hearts collaboration in the past, but its yet to come to fruition. Hopefully, now is the time, thought I have a heart time believing Disney will allow any of its original IP characters to run around with a weapon, so don't expect to see Mickey, Donald, or Goofy.
It's worth noting that HYPEX has come out and tempered expectations by pointing out that almost none of these recent insider leaks are necessarily new. Rather, they are "leftovers from Aidra telling multiple people earlier this year." Because of that, some of the plans may have been changed, delayed or scrapped. That said, it seems the gaming legends theme is pretty locked in.
It remains to be seen exactly how this would play out. Obviously, we won't be getting all of these iconic video game characters through the season's Battle Pass. In reality, we'll probably get one or two characters from other games featured in the Battle Pass, while the rest will be introduced as limited time collaborations, available for purchase through the in-game shop.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a Persona or Kingdom Hearts bundle as those could feature multiple characters and cosmetics. Unfortunately, that also means it probably won't come cheap.
The current season of Fortnite is scheduled to end on August 19, 2026. The latest season has been a hit with players thanks to the introduction of Sprites, collectible in-match helpers that grant special perks and abilities. It feels a lot like collecting Pokemon, as you discover sprites randomly through chests or acquiring them by eliminating other players. You can then level them up in-match and extract them to add to your collection permanently.
With Chapter 7 Season 3 beginning in about one month, we should start to see some more official teasers from Epic Games in the coming weeks.
