Asobo Studio, co-developers of
Fuel, The Crew, and
ReCore will return soon with their first original project in a long while,
A Plague Tale: Innocence. The upcoming adventure game will feature gameplay mechanics similar to
Dying Light and
The Wild Eight with the aesthetics of
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Innocence is one of those "indie triple-A" games made on a tight budget, sitting right between indie games and enormous "AAA" projects like new entries in the
Battlefield or
Assassin's Creed series.
Publisher Focus Home Interactive has announced that
A Plague Tale will be released on the 14th of May on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. In
Innocence, you will play as siblings Amicia and Hugo, witnessing their struggle through the heart of the ruthless world of 14th century France. On their way out, they will face the swarm of rats, that's incarnating the Black Death, and the Inquisition's soldiers.
Focus will highlight the work of the French team in a brand new behind-the-scenes webseries, the first episode of which,
Roots of Innocence, is available now and you can watch it down below. This video features not only snippets of all-new gameplay footage, but also introduces you to Charlotte McBurney and Logan Hannan, the young actors who provide voices for Amicia and Hugo. Take a look:
