After the truly amazing Spider-Man developed by Insomniac Games, many fans of the Marvel brand can't wait to see what Crystal Dynamic will do with The Avengers. The mysterious project was unexpectedly announced almost two years ago and we haven't heard anything about the game since. According to the project’s description more details will be revealed in 2018 but we still wait for them.
It seems that we will wait even longer to play as The Avengers as the recent job listing at Crystal Dynamics suggests that we're talking about a cross, or even next-gen title. The American developer that gave us two excellent Tomb Raider reboots is currently looking for a Lead Software Engineer that has "experience with current and next gen platforms: Xbox, PlayStation, and PC."
The rumor has it that both Microsoft and Sony are currently working on their next flagship systems, the next Xbox, codenamed Scarlett, and the successor of PlayStation 4. The consoles are expected to launch next year or in 2020 which may be the release date of The Avengers project, joining the already announced cross-gen titles like Ubisoft Montpelier's Beyond Good and Evil 2 and Bethesda's Starfield.
The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come. More details on The Avengers project and other games will be announced in 2018.
The Avengers project doesn't have a release date or specified platforms yet.
