Koji Igarashi's
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be following in the footsteps of its 8-Bit counterpart,
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, as it will be featuring more than just the one playable character — as we were all led to believe.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night's new playable character is a demon hunter samurai named Zangetsu, who is actually being voiced by David Hayter — who people instantly recognize as the voice of Solid Snake in Hideo Kojima's
Metal Gear series.
As per Zangetsu's reveal trailer, we also find out that he will be available as a playable character immediately after and free of cost; suggesting that this may be a day 1 update. It could also mean that there are more characters to be revealed at a later date; considering that we're only a few weeks away from the game's release, they can still introduce us to more characters before its launch.
Check it out:
Play as Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist's curse that slowly crystallizes her body. Battle through a demon-infested castle and defeat its master to save yourself, and all of humanity.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam on the 18th of June.
Nintendo Switch version to release on the 25th of June.
