The first Dying Light was a first-person, action survival game set in a vast open world of a city devastated by a mysterious virus, with players scavenging for supplies and crafting weapons to defeat the hordes of flesh-hungry enemies the plague has created. The game has also received two big DLC, The Following and Prison Heist, alongside smaller expansions, including a zombiefied Easter egg hunt.
According to GraczPospolita's Michał Król, Techland will showcase the sequel during the upcoming E3 in Los Angeles. The Polish developer is apparently currently finishing editing the reveal trailer as the works on the Dying Light: Bad Blood DLC are also coming to an end. This special mode will introduce the Dying Light players to the game's version of Battle Royale, and there's a big chance an improved version of this gameplay mechanism will be also featured in Dying Light 2, following the current trends.
Król's sources said that this scenario "is very possible" and Bad Blood will be a big test for Dying Light’s version of Fortnite and PUBG. Techland, the studio responsible for Dead Island, Call of Juarez, and Dying Light series announced back in 2016 that the developers are working on two big-budget titles with the combined budget of 300 million zloty (roughly $100 million).
