Dying Light: Bad Blood, Techland's take the popular battle royale genre, has entered early access on Steam and is now available worldwide.
Though inspired by the likes of
Fortnite and
PUBG,
Bad Blood retains
Dying Light's core gameplay mechanics, such as an emphasis on parkour to traverse the city, but introduces basic battle royale elements. The game pits 12 players against one another - a significantly smaller scale than most battle royale games - as they are dropped into an area and asked to survive. But there's a slight twist on the standard battle royale format - and it's not just the number of players. You all have the same goal: to evacuate before the night falls. In order to earn a spot on the evacuation chopper, you must pay with blood samples that you harvest from the infected.
With this in mind, you can choose to go solo or form alliances with other players to take down as many zombies (and bosses) as you can. The more samples that players harvest collectively, the more seats are unlocked. The catch is that each player pays for their seat individually, which means these alliances are short-lived and could end in a moment's notice. Remember, people will do anything when they are desperate to survive.
Early access to
Dying Light: Bad Blood on PC is granted through the Founder's Pack, which costs $19.99. In addition to access to the game before its final release, it also includes exclusive in-game content and currency, including three Legendary skins.
Dying Light: Bad Blood is intended to be a free-to-play game on consoles and PC when the early access phase is concluded,
