There's no denying that the official announcement of
Dying Light 2 at last year's Microsoft E3 press conference was one of the biggest highlights of the show – and while we haven't heard anything really new about the Techland-created zombie sandbox ever since, it will thankfully change relatively soon.
The Polish game developer has now confirmed that
Dying Light 2 will make an appearance during this year's E3, giving the audience a chance to learn more about Techland's most ambitious project to date, co-written by Chris Avellone (
Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords) and the makers of
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt's
Bloody Baron questline.
Dying Light 2 takes place 15 years after the deadly zombie outbreak from the original, showcasing what have happened when the dust settled and remaining survivors managed to find a way to rebuild the fallen world. According to the hard-working team at Techland, that situation has forced humanity to take a few steps back, resulting in a setting described by the studio as the "
Modern Dark Ages."
Given that
Dying Light 2 was revealed at a Microsoft media briefing, the promised new details on the sequel may be unveiled during the company’s E3 2019 conference on Sunday, June 9th at 1PM PT.
