Gods & Monsters is a storybook adventure game developed by Ubisoft — more in particular, the same team that worked on Assassin's Creed Odyssey — that was announced last year at E3. Initially the game was supposed to release in February of this year, but it was pushed back indefinitely.
Yesterday, information seemed to reveal that Ubisoft had renamed Gods & Monsters to Immortals: Fenyx Rising — information shared by the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee — although the company had yet to officially confirmed if this was, indeed, the case, or if this was a new game altogether.
Considering that not much information about this new game had been shared by Ubisoft — in quite a while, to be fair — it would be more than plausible that the developer ha chosen to rename the game; unusual, but still rather plausible.
As it turns out, Ubisoft has now confirmed that Gods & Monsters is no longer the name of the upcoming title, and that Immortals: Fenyx Rising is now the official title for this intriguing storybook adventure game. This information was actually confirmed by the Twitter account for Gods & Monsters, which was, of course, recently renamed.
According to Ubisoft, they will be fully revealing Immortals: Fenyx Rising during their Ubisoft Forward presentation next Thursday, so we may get a brand-new trailer, and maybe even an official release date. Now that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are just around the corner, confirmation about a next-gen version of the game is also on the table.
From the creators of Assassin’s Creed® Odyssey comes a storybook adventure about a forgotten hero on a quest to save the Greek gods. Prove your heroism by fighting dangerous mythological creatures and taking on their fearsome leader in a face-off for the ages. Explore a beautiful fantasy world where tricky trials, treacherous dungeons, and heroic feats await. The journey will be as challenging and rewarding as the final destination, and you will emerge as the hero you are meant to become.
Gods & Monsters is currently in development for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
