Overall, 2018 has been pretty good when it comes to big-budget video game releases. Of course
, Fallout 76 and
Metal Gear: Survive are notable exceptions from that statement, but almost every single game publisher has managed to launch quality products, starting with
Monster Hunter: World, God of War, Spider-Man, and ending with
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey and
Red Dead Redemption 2.
But 2018 is not over yet, as Avalanche Studios is ready to launch, what very well might turn out to be their opus magnum,
Just Cause 4. While some of the aforementioned titles are focusing on realism,
Just Cause 4 is heading into much different (and exciting) direction, giving you tools to defy gravity, face the thunder, take down an army of mercenaries, and ultimately liberate the vast island of Solis.
IGN has released 18 minutes of never-before-seen
Just Cause 4 footage and it has it all - spectacular vistas (while some developers are using game engines that were created in 2003, Avalanche has decided to build a new Apex Engine to avoid
Just Cause 3's performance issues), never-stopping action, and fighting the Black Hand.
Just Cause 4 may be almost here, but this video is definitely worth a look:
Welcome to Solis, a huge South American world home of conflict, oppression and extreme weather conditions. Just Cause 4 sees rogue hero Rico Rodriguez land in Solis to hunt down the truth about his past, at any costs. Strap into your wingsuit, equip your fully customizable grappling hook, and get ready to bring the thunder!
Just Cause 4 will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on December 4, 2018
