The Traveller's Tales machine works better than ever (two critically acclaimed Lego video games, The Lego Movie 2 Videogame and Lego DC Super-Villains, were both released in the past 12 months), so it comes as no surprise that the British game developer is working on a brand-new Lego Star Wars title.

At last week's Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, Sound Editor Matthew Wood, who voiced General Grievous in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars Battlefront II, and related media, confirmed that another Lego Star Wars game is in development.

During a panel at the Celebration, Wood revealed that there "are so many things we're doing right now, we've got [Star Wars:] Resistance going, Clone Wars going, we've got The Mandalorian happening, of course Episode IX [The Rise of Skywalker] is happening, there's a Lego Star Wars game we're working on..." Given that 2017's Star Wars: The Last Jedi hasn't received a dedicated Lego Star Wars game, with The Rise of Skywalker on the horizon (releasing this December), there's a big chance that WB will launch a special "bricked" version of those movies to accompany Episode IX's debut.

As a reminder, the latest entry in the long-running Lego Star Wars saga, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, initially hit stores in June 2016. Be sure to take a closer look at the video game down below:

LEGO® Star Wars™: The Force Awakens™ marks the triumphant return of the No. 1 LEGO videogame franchise and immerses fans in the new Star Wars adventure like never before. Players can relive the epic action from the blockbuster film in a way that only LEGO can offer, featuring all of the storylines from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, retold through the clever and witty LEGO lens. The game will also feature exclusive playable content that takes players on adventures set in the time leading up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, providing additional insight about the new movie and its characters.
