Earlier this week, we were treated to the surprise news that Firaxis is developing a Midnight Suns video game for Marvel Games. Featuring tactical, turn-based gameplay, the game will feature a new combat system from the team behind XCOM, and is set to be released next year.
Now, Game Informer has revealed the cover of its next issue and it features artwork by Amazing Spider-Man and Venom artist Ryan Stegman. He puts the spotlight on the characters who have been revealed thus far, including Iron Man, Wolverine, Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, and Blade.
The site says they talked extensively with Firaxis about putting a fresh spin on the Marvel Universe, how Midnight Suns will be a different experience to the one offered by XCOM, and the other superheroes fans can expect to see. They've even gone hands-on with the game, and more will be revealed this coming week.
"The world as we know it is changed forever when Hydra, through a procedure of magic and science, manages to revive Lilith, Mother of Demons," reads the synopsis for Midnight Suns. "In an effort to prevent Lilith from spreading her armies across the world, destroying everything in her path, The Avengers enlist the Midnight Suns to assist in their battle. This team of supernaturally powered heroes will need to work with the likes of Captain America, Iron-Man and Captain Marvel if they want to stop Lilith from resurrected Chthon, her all-powerful master."
