Control will be releasing on August 27, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via the Epic Games Store), an updated listing on the Microsoft store reveals. Considering that Remedy Entertainment, the renowned creators of the upcoming supernatural metroidvania, has already announced that their all-new game will hit stores this summer, the recently revealed release date is definitely believable.
In
Control, the player takes on the role of Jesse Faden, the newly promoted Director of the Federal Bureau of Control, which basically is a clandestine government agency tasked with studying and containing supernatural phenomena. Just like Remedy's previous titles,
Control will be a psychological thriller, but it doesn't mean that the game will be even remotely similar to
Max Payne o
r Quantum Break gameplay-wise, as Jesse will possess some spectacular telekinetic and telepathic powers.
If you have been eagerly waiting for the pre-orders to begin, Microsoft has confirmed that
Control pre-orders will begin relatively soon, on March 26th, containing the "
Tactical Response Gear" and "
Crafting Resources Pack", but it's unclear what they actually are – the edition's price is a big mystery as well.
As a reminder, Epic announced yesterday that you will be able to purchase the PC version of
Control exclusively on their Games Store, which means that Steam and GOG users will be left with nothing.
After a secretive agency in New York is invaded by an otherworldly threat, you become the new Director struggling to regain Control. This supernatural third-person action-adventure game will challenge you to master a combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments, while fighting through a deep and unpredictable world.
Control is coming to PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on August 27, 2019.
