Nixxes Software is a Dutch game developer specializing in porting software across all platforms and to the PC. The studio has primarily worked with Crystal Dynamics and Eidos, and it looks like their partnership will continue in
Shadow of the Tomb Raider which was revealed earlier this month. Nixxes has been helping Crystals since 1999's
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and its port on Dreamcast.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be the fifth
Tomb Raider game ported by Nixxes on PC. The studio is collaborating with Nvidia to deliver the best experience. In a blog post, Nvidia says: "
Following the success of this collaboration, we’re pleased to announce that we’re working with the studios once more on the PC version of Shadow of the Tomb Raider. This collaboration will bring all the benefits of the GeForce gaming platform including GeForce technologies, GeForce Experience features, Game Ready Drivers and much more to deliver the definitive PC version for the Tomb Raider series."
Nixxes Software's take on
Rise of the Tomb Raider was a major improvement over the console versions, including a physically-based materials system, image-based lighting, deformable snow, enhanced hair simulation, tessellated terrain, high quality cinematic effects and more and Nixxes has managed to produce visuals that greatly exceed the already beautiful Xbox One version.
