A brand-new featurette for Shadow of the Tomb Raider moves away from the visual elements of the game and reveals how the title's beautiful score and sound effects were crafted. Check it out after the jump.

Thanks to a wide range of trailers and promos, we've seen a lot of the stunning visuals in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but a brand-new featurette provides an in-depth look into how the game's score and its many sound effects were crafted.

Like other Tomb Raider titles, the upcoming installment will explore hidden lands, and in order to reflect the cultures featured in the game, Audio Director Rob Bridgett and Composer Brian D’Oliveira drew a lot of influence from Aztec and Mayan music.

As a result, they utilized a lot of instruments like the Aztec death whistle to compose the score. Likewise, many of these unique sound effects would be used to fill the game's large environment.
