It looks like there's literally no reason to look forward to today’s big reveal event for
Shadow of the Tomb Raider and the official presentation that should happen later today, as the game's box art, limited editions, first screenshots and assets, and even the full-length cinematic trailer have leaked online.
The trailer just appeared on the game’s Microsoft store page and you can watch it using
a direct link to the trailer right now. The CGI trailer confirms recent rumors, and the game is indeed being developed by Eidos Montreal, the creators of the last two
Deus Ex games (
Human Revolution &
Mankind Divided) and the recent
Thief reboot in collaboration with the series' original developer, Crystal Dynamics.
Though gameplay footage haven't leaked yet, the first screenshots appeared on the game's Amazon page yesterday. A bunch of assets features locations in South America and indeed, Lara Croft (who also doesn't look like Ms. Croft from the last two games) will face a dangerous cult that still believes in the power of the Seven Mayan Prophecies (or just watched Mel Gibson's
Apocalypto too many times)...
UPDATE - The cinematic trailer was finally released officially:
Experience Lara Croft’s defining moment as she becomes the Tomb Raider.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 14th.
